Hi,

I am new to drupal and am having trouble getting going. I downloaded
6.14 and I downloaded mysql & a php (from yahoo) program. I have the backup
files of the website we bought that was already made in drupal. I can't seem
to get anything going? How do I import the files so I can make a test site on
my computer and begin trying to learn drupal?

Do you have MySQL, Apache and PHP up and running? Without that you will not get anything done.
If not, use xampp to get started, when your xampp environment is running, getting Drupal installed is easy.
But without that we will not be able to help you.

Hi,

I am not sure if I can help you. However I would suggest you try this out:

You may need a complete package for windows to be able to run drupal on your local mashine.

You may want to downlload and installa complete server XAMPP obtainable at http://www.apachefriends.org/de/xampp.html
or WAMP obtainable at http://www.wampserver.com/en/

With your server installed and running, you can then create or import your database to phpmyadmin and install your Drupal package under htdocs in XAMPP or www in WAMP

Give it a try and see if it helps
