As a new member of the Drupal community I'm eager to get a project started, but my ideas for a site requires some substantial module development, enough that I'd rather not fly solo if I can avoid it. I want to contribute to the community, and hopefully release the modules used to built my site idea.
Since I'm new to the Drupal site, I have a question: What is the best venue (if there is one) for me to recruit developers for a new project?

Not sure
If you're looking for hires, but you may want to post in the Paid Drupal services forum or read through the Hosting and services page.

Tips for posting to the forums.
When your problem is solved, please post a follow-up to the thread you started.
Not exactly what I meant...
Thanks for the tip, but myself and the site are currently not-for-profit. Perhaps Drupal.org isn't the right venue to look for volunteer developers on freelance projects?
Thanks again, though.

That's different then...
Something like this would give value back to the drupal project, provided you kept everything open-source. So just state what your goals are and what modules your need to develop. It is quite feasible that someone is already working on something similar - which is an opportunity to collaborate.
Good luck

Thanks
Thanks. I'll link a clear definition of the project objectives and the development site as soon as both are presentable.
