I finally convinced one of my clients to make the leap of faith from static pages to a dynamic community.

The company wanted a place where users could share tips, tricks, and ideas about their product line.

I'm thrilled with the site but they're still a bit tentative. Check it out at http://juice.altiris.com

While you're there, leave some positive feedback about the dynamic experience -- I can use all the support I can get.

BTW, big ups to Khlid and the folks at 2bits.com for rushing some enhancements to the nodevote module (which I'm using with pride).

The site has a nice clean and unique look to it. Simple and organized. Best of luck to you with it.

Thanks Brian,

Companies in the high-tech industry have a tendency to bury themselves in information (white papers, technology briefs, spec sheets ...). Drupal has given us the opportunity to force some order in this world.

We've leveraged various vocabularies (product, topic, type) to give the user a few visual queues as to what the info item is before they click.

The glossary module is also a Godsend in a world littered with acronyms.

Many thanks to all on the Drupal team for creating such a fantastic product!

Looks nice
It's helpful to see nodevote in action.
Are the enhancement to nodevote going to be committed?
Does "most voting users" mean "People who have voted most often"?

Drupal ecommerce, at www.drupalecommerce.com is a new site written using language that Drupal beginners and intermediate users can understand. It has about 300 unfinished pages. 2 tutorials for views module under "Modules"

We like nodevote because it does more than just keep score. For one thing, it integrates nicely with other modules like userpoints. It also allows you to display the info you collect (most popular content, most voted content, user's who vote most) in blocks.

Yes, the folks at 2bits.com are going to commit the enhancements -- that we sponsored ;-) -- for public use. At this writing, the 4.6 code is done (that's what we're using) and the 4.7 code is close.

Yes, "most voting users" shows the users who have voted most (users can only place one vote per node and they are not allowed to vote on their own node).

The enhancements include the ability to show the score graphically (kinda fun when you're running a site named "The Juice") and the ability for a user to return to a node and adjust their vote (requested by the client).

A quick look put me on this page:

http://juice.altiris.com/node/235

Where I can see and click the "track" tab. Do you really mean to have this available to the public?

Thanks for the feedback Peter.

Can you help me understand your concern?

I've included the tracking functionality because our readers have come accustomed to finding content by author and this was the only (er, easiest) way I could see to expose a list of content from each author's profile page.

Now that you point it out, the list on this page is too wide for the template... is that the reason for your feedback?

Thanks again,
Kevin

Thanks again for the heads up, Peter.

I didn't realize that if I limited access to the statistics module, users would still be able to see the "track" tab on user profile pages.

Not only does this solution hide the stats, but it gets rid of the tab and cleans up the pages.

I love the style of it. are you planning to make the theme available?

regards, Neil.

kmillecam’s picture

Thanks for the Kudos Neil.

Since Altiris commissioned the theme, it probably won't be available to the public (until they tire of it).

We basically started with the bluemarine theme and tweaked it.

Fine effort.

IMHO, your site would look better if the title for each post wraps around the image.

what voting moduel are u using? :)

tks

We're using the Node Vote module.

We did substitute the module's default 'star' graphic with our own 'fruit' graphic.
