Are there any blog archive modules for drupal that can do the same as the Archives sidebars on these blogs?

you can use views.module that comes with an archive view.
or archive.module

Ok, I see the views archive view gives a list of months with all content for that month. Any ideas how would I alter this to only show blog posts and to only show posts from the user's (blog) page being looked at?
