Hi Drupalians,

I tried to install a fresh drupal 6.14 site in the production environment(Apache2.x,PHP 5.1,MYSQL 5.0,Linux) and ends up with multiple errors.I installed it in my local machine and i dont find any problem with the installation it works like a charm.Since it works in my local i hope the problem should be with the hosting side and am not sure about what are settings should be changed in their end to solve the issue.Since am very new to drupal and i dont have much knowledge about the coding part of drupal.Can anyone please help me out in resolving this issue.

Errors are:

After a long search i found the solution.This issue raised b'coz my hosting doesn't allow me to override the php_value "session.auto_start" to 0 from my .htaccess file.Once it is turned off from the hosting side everything works well.I think this might help someone and save their time....

There is an error in the .htaccess file supplied in Drupal 6.14. If you overwrite this with your old .htacess file, this problem will disappear.
But I don't dare bring this up as a bug; I tried to point out a bug in Drupal core once before, and I was villified like I had the leprosy, so I won't do it again!

Hello friends,
I'm getting a pageful of following error while running installation script:
Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\drupal-6.14\includes\file.inc on line 902

Can anyone giv me sollution for this error?

Hello,
I am also getting similar errors while attempting to install Drupal- 6.14 in Ubuntu 9.04 with a XAMPP for linux version 1.7.2 installation. The error is a page of

"Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /opt/lampp/htdocs/includes/file.inc on line 902"
with
"Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /opt/lampp/htdocs/includes/file.inc:902) in /opt/lampp/htdocs/includes/install.inc on line 618

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /opt/lampp/htdocs/includes/file.inc:902) in /opt/lampp/htdocs/includes/install.inc on line 619"

on the last two lines

I had run the security update for the lampp installation before starting the Drupal installation.

Can anyone help?

The cause is PHP version.

Don't use PHP version 5.3, instead use PHP version 5.2.9.2
And you will get no error message.

I am also unable to install vBulletin on PHP version 5.3

I hope this will help you guys.

go to your drupal directory..
you hav to edit drupal\includes\file.inc file a little bit..
open file .inc
search for elseif ($depth >= $min_depth && ereg($mask, $file)) line in that file
edit the above line by
elseif ($depth >= $min_depth && mb_ereg($mask, $file))

your problem is solved..

Maybe you did not know you need to install Apache, MySQL and PHP on your PC (computer, computer). This can be done using a single installation package ready and configured as:
AppServ, XAMPP, WAMP, EasyPHP. (used for the manual) This is if you install Drupal in local mode.

This could be related as well to wrong parameters in 'access callback'.
