Hi webmasters,
I logged into g.d.o today and was quite surprised to learn that I apparently had been a member for only 2 weeks and 4 days and that I was not member of any group.
I have used g.d.o since 2006 so something is wrong here.
The problem may be related to the fact that I used my d.o account to log into g.d.o and the old Drupal way of doing this was removed in D6.
During login I noticed that the domain changed from g.d.o to d.o while showing the login form.
I dug up one of my old posts on g.d.o and found my old UID on g.d.o which is 539. The user name is listed as "Tiburón@"
The account I got into today has UID 43741 and is listed as "Tiburón".
As a test I tried using "Tiburón@" as user name at login but that failed.
My guess is that during the upgrade to D6 on g.d.o something went wrong while migrating the old remote addresses to however the new shared login between d.o and g.d.o is implemented.
I request that my new account on g.d.o (UID 43741) is deleted (or renamed and disabled) and that the user name for my old account on g.d.o (UID 539) is fixed by removing the "@".
You may want to check the user tables for similar occurrences of "@" at the end of a user name.

Christian Larsen

Tiburón commentedMoshe pointed me to the "Groups upgrade under way" post at http://groups.drupal.org/node/26125 in irc and I have now made an account synch request at http://groups.drupal.org/node/27658 and added a comment pointing back here.
