Unable to add Profile category to Panel

This indicates some kind of javascript crash. Please check your javascript console (ctrl-shift-f in firefox) and tell me what message it gives. Please reset this back to active when you've provided this information.

I have the same problem.

After that the IE want to start a download ... look at the image attached.

SNaKeMe: This is an issue with img_assist. See this search: http://drupal.org/project/issues/img_assist?text=panels&status=All

THe top issue shows a workaround, and there's an issue with a patch though it is currently marked 'needs work' so I'm not sure the patch is reliable.

#2: Using firebug's console is difficult because when the page refreshes, it clears the console, so you often cannot see the error it brought up. It is more reliable to use the basic firefox one which will not clear when the page is refreshed.

That solved the Problem:
I went to admin/settings/img_assist, selected the radio button for image assist to "Show on only the listed textareas", clicked Submit, and the problem was resolved.
