MYSQL Blocked

Went to the home page of one of my sites today and got this error:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Host 'localhost.localdomain' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' in /home/virtual/site5/fst/var/www/html/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 12
Host 'localhost.localdomain' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'
Can anyone help with this? Not necessarily fixing, but would be helpful, but more what would have caused this.
