Any thoughts?

Ive set up my site... now since I created a new role "site administrator" it won't let me make choices when I create content It lets me type and Save and Preview but the other stuff like Input format and such don't work anymore... I also have module Admin role and Actions installed... wonder if it might be one of those that cause it

have you give the "site
have you give the "site administrator" alle the permisions you want/need
Try Going to Permissios
Hi WolfSoul
When you create a new role you need to give that role permission to do stuff.
So go to Admin panel - User Management - Roles. Here you give the admin role all permissions.
Then you need to to Admin panel - User Management - Users. click edit for your admin user, and make that user a "site administrator" ( Your new Role).
Then you have full access to do stuff.
I hope that's simple enough to follow
Ortaga
yea the problem is Ive done
yea the problem is Ive done all that stuff... maybe I skipped some permsission Don't know
Erm little edit.. Actually the persmissions are not the problem at all.. seeing the site administrator role has ALL permissions
A different solution
I dont know if this has anything to do with your problem.
Are any users assigned to the role?
Login under your original admin account (the very 1st one that was created, is the only one that can assign roles now) If you want your account to be the site administrator (dont know why...) select "my account" click "edit" tab and scroll down to roles and select "site administrator" and save. If you need to assign this role to another user go to that account and do the same, just find their account and edit it through the user list. Administer >User management >Users
Good luck
Im not actually sure what the
Im not actually sure what the problem is... I can adminster.. but when I want to create new content there is no arrow to click for expanding Input format, Book outline, Revision etc...
So basically I can type something but not define the rest..
But the strange thing is.. even anonymous users CAN do that.. so my 1st account is excluded odd behavior if you ask me
PS I HAVE assigned the role... that is NOT the problem btw
hmmmm
Well Ive looked through every setting I can think of that may be holding you up...Cant find anything
Try turning of this role for your account and see if this solves the problem
This probably wont help but try
User management >Roles Click "edit permissions" of the new role. This gives you a single role permissions list which is easier than dealing with all of them at once.
I had to set up a new role after I installed Ubercart and things just got too messed up, not the same as your problems but just odd things I couldn't do anymore...Perhaps there are hidden permissions that only the 1st superadmin account is permitted. IDK there needs to be an easier way to setup multiple super administrator accounts IMHO, if I figure out a more successful route Ill let you know.
