I decided to give Drupal a try after coming across it. I am very impressed with the speed, and to some degree the usability. I have to say Joomla is a lot easier to install! But then it's a bit of a dinosaur.

Enough fluff, here's my very first question for this great community.

I am creating a blog with Drupal. I want to categorize my blog entries. I discovered Taxonomy is the module for the job, and Taxonomy On The Fly is what I would use to tag posts to certain categories.

I have downloaded Taxonomy On The Fly from the CVS (only download place I could find!) for my Drupal 4.6.6. I downloaded from http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/modules/taxonomy_otf/. I chose Revision 1.9 as the other ones as tagged for Drupal-4-5 branch.

I tried to follow the steps explained at http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/modules/taxonomy_otf/.... I did steps 1, 2 and 4. I couldn't do 3 as I couldn't find Administrator->Users->Configure->Permissions. I did enable the module, goto Administrator->Access Controls and ticked taxonomy_otf and create terms on-the-fly for Authenticated User

I tried this for a long time, and still was not able to see the Create New Term form when creating a new story, page or blog entry. A image of the Create New Term form can be see from http://drupal.org/node/47822.

I really would appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

YES!

I was looking at the wrong place all this time. I forgot to tick which Types I wanted to associate with my one term/category. Now that they are ticked(Administrator->Category->Edit Term), Taxonomy On The Fly is working great:D
