hi

i have a site where i use mostly the blog as normal news, and page/story for stuff i want to keep like faqs and guide(i know its bad setting, but can't change them now, although am rebuilding everything in local to make some sense), now i enabled the forum module and thinking of this scenario.

is it possible anytime i made a blog/story/page/any content type i define a forum topic get created automatically? and anyway to create forum topic for my 500+ old posts automatically?

it's just an idea, i don't know if it can be possible.

any pointers or advises welcomed.

Not sure about the old posts, but you should be able to do this with the rules module for new posts.

hi

i tried the rule module but don't know how to assign the create forum.
i can't find the create forum in the list to choose from, just noode and stuff.

plz can you gimme any pointers please.

meh... i didn't realize the content creation action for rules wasn't quite fully baked (http://drupal.org/node/327944). The http://drupal.org/project/discussthis module is probably the better option unless you have the skills to use a php action with rules to create a node programmatically.
