Issue Summary
I would like to create a product with "flavors". As in, I have a file I want to sell, and it comes in windows, linux, and mac versions. In ubercart you just add some product attributes and automatically you can select them when you're in the product page.
For various reasons I found ecommerce better than ubercart but I don't see this product "flavor" capability anywhere. Searching around it looks like there used to be a "subproducts" module that however doesn't seem to appear anywhere anymore.
How can I create product "flavors" or variations with ecommerce? I'm using the 6.x-4.0rc11 release. Is there some sort of subproducts module available for the 4.0 version??

I'm interested in this also. I read that 'Subproducts' had been ported over to v6, but never found the module anywhere.

At this stage it has not been ported to D6.

Is anyone even working on it? Just wondering about time frame-- I want to update my site to the new version...thx.

because of the slimming of e-Commerce sub products has been moved to a contrib module, but as of yet it has no one wanting to be the maintainer.

...thus rendering e-commerce unuseable. :(. At least for my needs. Pity.

Postponing.
While we all agree that subproducts/product attributes would be nice, it's not part of the 4.0 release. Though, if someone picks it up, it might work as an addon module.
