After updating to nodewords 6.x-1.2 I was able to get it to work using the advice to empty cache after installing the base module and basic nodewords. To start with I did not include canonical urls but decided later to do so. Unfortunately, despite checking the box to include canonical url's in the settings it does not show up under global. Emptying cache does not help here. Not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Izzy

It is not possible to set a default value for the canonical URL; this is because setting a default value for the canonical URL would cause some problems.

HI,

I am having the same issue with canonical URLs in nodewords. Is there an update on this issue?

Thanks!

Please paste in the exact URL of the form you are expecting to see the Canonical URL field.

Hi. For example, I was expecting to see the URL alias - url/i/want - in the canonical meta tag, but was seeing node/72 instead. Can't find where to set it correctly and am getting heat from my client for the "wrong URL" showing up in search results.

Thanks,
john

There's a checkbox on the main settings page called "Canonical URL use path alias", that will make it use the path alias instead of the internal path. FYI this option works best when you're also using the GlobalRedirect module.

I'm adding this change to the settings page to note that it works best when GlobalRedirect is also used.

FYI please make sure you're using the latest 6.x-1.13 or -dev release.
