Child -> Parent(s) Relationships

We currently have Parent with multiple children ability.

It would be most useful to have Child with Multiple Parents ability in core.

There are currently two modules in contrib. - but I find them rather complex to use and understand.

thank you for considering this and all your hard work to keep this Summer project active.

I know I'm suppose to explain why I think this is important - but it seems the more I try to explain this type of stuff - the more I confuse people :-)

I think you can see the possibilites of this feature.

best regards,

This is a good idea for Drupal

There is a lot of thinking being done on how to best implement a generalized relationships manager. I unfortunately don't think that it's the type of thing that a student, new to Drupal, will pull off in a summer.

I was thinking this might be to big of a project as well.

Though, I do recall you mentioned that the projects should be at a level that is both interesting and challenging --- enough to hold their attention. So, I was thinking with one intern and two mentors --- it just might be possible

best regards,

Last year showed that the 2-3 months that students have is barely time to really feel comfortable with Drupal. A relationships module requires not only "comfort" with Drupal, but the deepest, clearest understanding of its inner workings. Adrian Rossouw could write something like this in a summer, if it were the only thing he were doing, but not many other people could. It just isn't worth throwing a student at the problem and getting so-so code that will never get used.

PS: I deleted your child page... the best way to comment on this issue is with a comment.
