Desc Char Length exceeded

I was doing a little site stat checking tonight. And when running an analyzer on my site I received the following error.

The number of characters in description is 254.
You have exceeded your limit of 250 characters for descriptions.

This was my home page.

Would it be at all possible to get a field like there is for Meta Tag length; default 255 .. but changeable

or is there some place I can go to make this small edit in the module?
