Automatic Status Promotion

I'm not sure if this is a feature request for a new sub-module or simply a bug report, but I'll call it a feature request since I'm not sure if it's supposed to be in there or not.

Signup status needs some way in the UI to specify a "promotion path" (i.e. which status a user should be filed into if the default status they've requested is full).

I'm particularly requesting this in the sense of a "Registered" and "Waitlisted" usage of Signup Status. For example, in the UI you would have some way of setting "if Registered Limit is reached, put user into the Waitlisted Status", and "When a spot opens up in the Registered status, promote the next person in line in the Waitlisted Status into the Registered Status".

...this should also be accompanied by email notification to the user that their status has been changed.

I'm not sure if this functionality is in the plans for Signup Status, but I couldn't find any evidence that it was... ...it would be incredibly useful though.
