Hi,
I have this little issue: I would like to turn off the ability to create a certain content type for the 'editor' role. (the Page-type in my example) But I want that role to be able to edit it. I also want the user to be able to browse trough the content (admin/content/node).
If I uncheck 'create page content' in permissions, that is not enough to get page out of the list of create new content type. (node/add) This will be removed from the list if I also uncheck 'administer nodes' in permissions. Unchecking 'administer nodes' however will also remove the ability to browse the nodes.
I don't understand why these two things are linked to each other. What can I do about it?
I made a website for a client with several pages. I want to give the client the ability to edit these pages, but not creating new ones. And I also want him to be able to browse all nodes.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Danny

danny_joris commentedI tried to avoid this issue by using Node Admin : http://drupal.org/project/nodeadmin , but I still can't use that, because it has an issue that would have the same end result for me. http://drupal.org/node/592432
Still, this would not solve the initial issue in Drupal core.

aufumy commentedtalked to Danny_Joris on irc, suggested to create a view instead to allow non-admin users to view content.

danny_joris commentedTrue, and I made it work nice with http://drupal.org/project/views_bulk_operations :)
