Email failed but invites are listed as pending

Description
I'm using SMTP mail module along with Invite. My email server would fail occasionally. If I'm sending mass invites when the mail server doesn't work, I will receive errors saying emails were not sent. However the invite are still listed as pending.
Can we check mailing results and set only successful ones as pending?
