We'll be having our 3rd DC Drupal meetup this Thurs, 5-7pm at Murky Coffeehouse. To change things up a bit, I'm going to go over Drupal and theming, and give examples of sites that don't look like a Drupal install, along with showing the underlying code on how to achieve similar results (it's easier than you think!). If anyone wants to help co-pilot this talk, let me know. After this 30 min talk, we can break into our usual groups and just talk Drupal.

Can someone please video these events? How cool would it be for others who are not local to the meeting to see the prosentation?

That would be very cool in fact. I live in Norway and most meetups are quite a distance from me, but many seem to discuss very interesting topics of drupal.

I'd love to see a video, or even hear a podcast on this topic as well.

Failing video, if you could possibly post links to some of those non-Drupally sites (and better yet, a few key theming tips along with them), that would be just smashing.

Thanks, and have a great meetup!

Which Murky Coffee?

Also I'm a total newbie to Drupal (just jumped from Postnuke this year) - is it alright for quiet lurkers to just listen in?

The one in Clarendon. xerexes, sure, this is always open to new people wishing to just sit and hear more about Drupal. We've had quite a few people just come and observe and they have learned a lot, so please stop by!

Is Virginia Square or Clarendon the better station? Metro's trip planner has been down all day.

They announce on their web site that from April 2 on they won't be offering WiFi internet connection any longer... did anyone notice?

Quoting the post, note the things in bold:

Wi-fi
On Sunday, April 2, 2006, both murky coffee locations will no longer be offering wi-fi internet access. We understand that this will inconvenience a lot of our customers, and for that we're very sorry.

(EDIT 11:01 PM : To all of the folks who emailed us today with angry words of hate and disappointment... I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive us... forgive us and please remember today's date and all that it means.)

Hope that clarifies :-) The first time I read it I thought the same thing too.
