Tonight I tried nodecomment.
At the end I had to uninstall it since the nodecomment module forces stopping the comment module which is required by the forum.
The problem is that for some reason after stopping nodecomment, reactivating comment and reactivating the forum, all new nodes to the forum simply disappear. I can see them in the content as published, but they don't appear in any forum.
Any idea?

OK, it came out that when you de-activate and re-activate "forum", the forum form stays for some reason of the wrong content type. Just saving it again did the trick.
