Update existing feed items - checkmarked ----- Is this necessary to update feeds?

From what I understood.. that would update them in reverse order...
If this is unchecked does that mean feeds will not be updated?
I have it unchecked... and some feeds are updated that are unchecked... but other which are also unchecked are also not updated...?

Not at all.
Let me explain:
Feed A
--
item1 - monday
item2 - tuesday
item3 - friday
If you run cron, feedapi examine the current content of the feed and if that checkbox is unchecked, only the newly seen items are created. In the other case, the old items are updated, IF they were changed in the feed itself.

I am thinking that it takes a lot more server resources to check ole feeds... I am not interested in the status of old feeds... only new feeds which are updated to download... So logically not checking update existing feed items should not affect the downloading of new feeds? The problem is my new feeds are not all being refreshed on chron.. leaving no error.. yet upated manually by clicking on refresh with no prob...

Can someone explain to me if it would hurt the server resources or is it neccissary to aid the update of new feeds to check the option to update existing feeds?
If it doesnt hurt chron runs I will check it. If it helps to update feeds which need updated I will check it. If it hurts feeds from deign updated because it causes the server to lose chron run time I will not check it.

As you described what you want, you do not need to check that "Update existing feed items2 checkbox.
