One thing I have not seen so far (the closest is taxonomy_html) and I am in desparate need for is a yahoo style taxonomy.
Where one could navegate just like one does in the yahoo categories!
- same distribution style using tables of two columns
- ability to only see three sublevels in the list and then to click on "more..." to see all sublevels.
This will be a really great step!

Taxonomy HTML is a simple single purpose module and is not going into this direction.
