v2 uses [tags] which has the best of both worlds. It's dynamic and yet it's also cached correctly and therefore has all the benefits that the static option had in v1.

thanks for getting back to me.. i was looking for a way to use v2 but still incorporate alt tags for my images - i was thinking with the static version i could at least go in an add these manually ?
