Stated plainly, this module sucks in it's current form. Is there some sort of road map stating where this module is headed? Do the dev's have a direction they wish to take this? What are the working alternatives?

rc2020 commented@Mikeytown, I might politely suggest that there are more respectful ways to ask such a question regarding a service which is provided to you free of charge, as in, created by people not being paid for this project that takes scores of hours from their lives, which they give to the community for free. With all due respect, I would kindly suggest that you offer more respect when asking this question.
With that said, it is a good question. I too wonder about the status of this module. Last dev release was july 31. 350+ open issues. Location is enormously important to so many individuals that use Drupal, the entire drupal experience is immeasurably increased by location. The bug reports, numerous (and many unanswered) support requests make me nervous about the use of location on a production environment. While my personal experience has been nothing less than perfect, running 100K users a day over a location backed system makes me curious about the status.
Chime in at your leisure.
Regards,
CR

mikeytown2 commentedI use this module, so do 10k+ other sites. It's just that some of the offered features don't work out of the box; thus other modules get developed when in reality this module should/could be the solution. Original post has to do with my then frustrations with this module. Just seems like setting some goals would be a good idea, let people focus on fixing this module 1 step at a time. My 2 biggest complaints is views and tokens, but where would one even start if they wanted to start to fix this module?

bdragon commentedHis complaint is valid. I agree that Location sucks in its current form. I have also been having stuff preventing me from devoting the time needed (to put it lightly) lately that is required to get things shaped up.
I'd like to get back into the old routine where I'd be doing 5-10 fixes a day, but my track record for the last year or so SUCKS.

ankur commentedLooks like this discussion reached some sort of conclusion a while back. If it's not too late to add my thoughts: this module is as good as people make it. Since there aren't that many people with that many hours to put into this project, it will only be that good.
