Is there any possibility that we can use this module with *.m4a (AAC - mpeg4 audio) format? I do not want to re-encode to mp3.

This module just glues the WordPress Audio Player into Drupal. We can't add any features to the player itself, just how it integrates with Drupal. For feature requests like this you will have to ask the developers over at WordPress: http://wpaudioplayer.com/support
