My bad. In views 2, you have to set a column to be sortable or not in the "Style" settings for the view.
Issue should be closed...

I have a stored computed field.
In a View using table style, Sortable is NOT offered under the table settings for the computed field column (yet it is for all other fields).
Glad for advice,

In your cck edit form for your field, all the way at the bottom of the form, have you checked "sortable"?

Thanks, yes thats all it was. I actually thought of this already myself, for some reason it occurred to me while I was in the bath, the Sortable checkbox just flashed before my eyes. Must be having Drupal dreams.
