Does this support user defined privacy? E.g as a user I don't want to publish my activity to friends?

A great use of this module would interaction with shopping modules where by default my puchases will be known to my friends. But then some user may want to disable such thing and buy quietly.

Any thoughts?

Activity 2 does, the version you are asking about does in a way that is a little strange, as it provides a permission.
