I haven't implemented a filter yet, but there is date argument handling (which works with the apachesolr facet blocks) here

#642430: Date argument handlers for created and updated fields is for using node created & changed fields as arguments, which is independent from using them as filters or as sort criteria, so this is not a duplicate. a client has asked me to give a quote for writing this feature, if approved i'll post the patch here once it's done. (incidentally, this is the same client that sponsored my patch for #642430 -- see comment #10 on that issue. so no, that doesn't fix this problem.)

Version 6.x is no longer supported due to Drupal 6 End of Life. For Drupal 8.x, use Search API Solr Searchinstead.
