using other view names and field names for content type other than the default news items

Hi,

This does not look like it's working for me.
I believe I have followed all steps according to the advanced video tutorial.

In particular:

I created a new content type with the fields for the pager and slide text and an image field.
Created some content.
I then cloned the default news item view and changed the filter and field types accordingly.
I then created and configured a new instance of ddblock.

Now to the preprocess function :)
I copied the if statement from the news items view and pasted it below.
I saved changes.
I changed view name and field name variables (slide image variable and slide text variable) as demonstrated.

I then see a grey box (not a success but better than nothing I guess).
I re-comment the drupal set messages and uncomment the bottom set messages for the pager content template.

And this is where I'm stuck :) as I see no error message or debug lines after I save the changes regardless whether I copy the second if statement or not.

I'm now officially hopeless, tired and need to go back to alcohol :)
so please help.
