back in November 2008 I started to fully rewrite this module, because I had many problems with it. But I did not work on it since then, and the rewrite is not finished. I just want to attach it here, if you would like to work on this module. I think it contains some good improvements..

sorry the patch won't be any easier to read (as this is a full rewrite), and I really do not have time to work on this. As you can see the attached code is almost 1 year old, and I have not touched it since then..

OK, I'm closing this as I've incorporated most of your improvements into the 2.0-dev branch. There's still more work to do, and it's probably not quite stable yet, but that's for other issues. Thanks Pasqualle!
