back in November 2008 I started to fully rewrite this module, because I had many problems with it. But I did not work on it since then, and the rewrite is not finished. I just want to attach it here, if you would like to work on this module. I think it contains some good improvements..

Please submit a patch, which will be easier for the community to review.

sorry the patch won't be any easier to read (as this is a full rewrite), and I really do not have time to work on this. As you can see the attached code is almost 1 year old, and I have not touched it since then..

Thanks Pasqualle.
I took a quick look and you definitely made some improvements. I'll work to incorporate them into the 2.x version.
