Some people use + signs in their email adresses to avoid spam or to track who gave away ones email address. See http://www.tipstrs.com/tip/103/Use-a-different-email-address-for-every-s... for more information. Anyhow if I am entering an email address like daniel+spamsite.com@mydomain.com the address is accepted so it is not a big problem but results in invalid usernames. When I try to edit the users password I get the error "The username contains an illegal character." and can't save the bage unless I remove the plus sign.

I don't know why the plus sign is not allowed but in case it is for security reasons things might become more interesting.
