Hello Folks. I installed Drupal v4.6.6 today and I'm having a ball with it. It's great. I have installed the Sunflower theme which sets up nice and have added some content, a few side bar boxes, etc. All good. I enabled the Search box in the modules and in the theme's settings, then enabled a left box with a weight of -1 and it sits nicely at the top of the left side bar. I ran cron.php and the search works great. Except for this thus far problem I've yet to figure out. The search box appears "only" if I'm logged in (currently there is only one user, me, as the admin). My plan for the site is to not require user login. At this time it will be a one-way content site (maybe as I become more familiar I'll set up comments and forums, etc. and require user registration/login). But the problem I'm having is that the search box does not appear at all for anyone who visits not logged in. It is only appearing, and working okay, for me as logged in. Any suggestions on where I'm running afoul on this? I wasn't able to find such reference in a forum search.

Of course, as soon as I posted, I found the answer in the Admin section. Weird how that happens. :) All I needed to do was to go into the "access control" dialog and check off that anon users can search content. Then the search box appeared. Very interesting dialog with lots of flexibility.

How do you get drupal to index the site so you get search results back?
run a cron
i don't really know what this means - has to do with indexing the site - but I found that I could run the cron manually by going to the following address: mysite.org/cron.php
