Hey all,

I'm new to Drupal and evaluating it to see if Drupal is a good choice for us.

I'm currently running an ASP website for our volleybal club. We have about 20 teams (men, women, boy and girls) and about 350 members in total. More than 300 games are played per season.

Have a look at our current website to see what I'm looking for !
Overview of all teams per season, including players and games per team : http://www.volley-zoersel.be/cms/ploegen.asp
Overview of all games per week http://www.volley-zoersel.be/cms/ploegen.asp

Would it be possible to do this with Drupal and existing modules?
Which modules do I need?

Cheers,
T

your site is down. Drupal should be fine for it if everyone is in the same timezone and you don't mind a little bugginess in timezone display issues.

Drupal ecommerce, at http://www.drupalecommerce.com is a new site written using language that Drupal beginners and intermediate users can understand. Quick links to "Modules" and "Module Groupings."

Have a look at http://cordoba.sohosted.com/drupal/

Modules used:
* CCK
* Views
* Insert View

Theme used:

I made it a 3 colomn theme. It still needs some serious work.

While I can't say if Drupal is for you, I can say Drupal will manage the content you have on your site much better than it is at the moment.

One thing that stood out on your site for me was the gallery I am certain the gallery that’s bundled with the image module would do a much better job. Take a look at mine http://www.ravalonline.com/image Drupal’s gallery would allow you to categorize your information like this: Team -> Year -> Date / Event or Year -> Team -> Game / Date / Event. If I’m not mistaken your site only allows you to view one image at a time, I think a thumbnail layout like mine would be better and users will be able to comment on each photo if you like.

And a few ideas for your site, video might be a plus for speeches, meetings, games and so on. Also ecommerce, teams can create there own merchandise and you can sell them online for a small fee or even pay membership online.

Drupal can do all these things effortlessly.

I know this isn’t exactly what you asked but I’m trying to show you some ways Drupal might be able to help enhance your site.

I built a site for a team months ago, but had to close it down for unpayment. It's a pity because it has everything you need: players, teams, a player can be member of more than one team, match calendar, match cronicles and other news, unlimited photo uploads for match chronicles, players and teams, automatic image resizing (God bless imagecache.module), sponsor list...

Everything, everything.

The technology, at this moment, is on sale.
