- I have downloaded a theme from Drupal "Pixture reloaded 2" it downloaded to my desktop how do I get it to my Drupal blog site?

You will need to check for settings.php

I am not sure if you are trying to install drupal localy or on your hosting if you are trying to install localy on your host?

if you are installing drupal on your local host make sure you do the following:

did you install a server like WAMP or XAMPP?

look for a file name "default.settings.php" and you have to copy to "settings.php"

you will find the file in the following:

\www\Drupal\sites\default

When you unzip "you will need something like 7-zip file manager" the theme you downloaded move the the theme directory to the following:

\www\Drupal\sites\all\themes

then you can activate the theme through admin\sitebuilding\theme

Good Luck

you rock... did that all

Kas Report - October 12, 2009 - 01:42

you rock... did that all worked...

I've now downloaded several (almost 30 of them) modules and via FTP got them to my Drupal Directory at my host.... I tried to enable them and in the process of doing that i got this fatal error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /-/-/public_html/includes/install.inc on line 400

how do i correct this or rather add memory size? I've deleted my site info for security since its open forum here however left the end of the error ...

what would you recommend i do? i've deleted all the files i don't need on my FTP etc... and still get the same result...

Please help

Do you have access to the control panel

mwarshanna - October 19, 2009 - 19:00

Hi,

Let's start by first going through the following:

1- Did you install drupal on your host hostmonster.com? As from your post I understand you did that but please confirm that.

2- Did you setup your ftp file transfer correct to access your host, filezila etc....?

3- Did you connect your database to your drupal installation files?

4- In each hosting company they let you have access to a control panel sometimes they call it cpanel do you have access and do you know your user ID and password?

5- In your cpanel you will have access to file manager where you can browse your root directory which have your drupal directory and sub directory; then you will see what I mentioned in my first post.

When you download and unzip your modules, make sure that your directories are created with lower case letters (very important).

Since you are already just starting, try to start with one or two modules at a time until you are comfortable with the process.

Cheers,

Moataz

Use Simple Scripts

Hi Kas, the error you reported, "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted..." can be resolved by increasing your memory limit. See this thread: http://drupal.org/node/207036

worked! thank you both..
