Maxlength is not appearing in admin menu interface although enabled in Modules

I have tried installing, un-installing - entering the admin/settings/maxlength manually - searched in the admin interface for the title of the module - and can't find it. Cleared caches, ran update...what else should I try? Where do I set the configuration options for this module?

Is it possible that it is installed under another admin setting - incorporated somewhere else? Couldn't find anything in the README except to post an problem here. TIA!
