group by DN if attribute is present more than once

Description
group by DN fails if the attribute is present more than once.
e.g group by ou=subdepartment with the following entry:
cn=employee,ou=subdepartment,ou=department,dc=company,dc=com
Nothing happens. Maybe you have to tell 'group by 1st ou from left' or something else.
I checked that it works if ou is present only one time e.g.
cn=employee,ou=subdepartment,dc=company,dc=com
