Hello, thank you in advance for your time and input.

First, let me start off by saying that for nearly two weeks I have been trying many CMSes, including Joomla, Xoops, Worpress etc. I must say that using Drupal gives me the feeling of empowerment rather than confusion (unlike the others!).

In short, what I hope to create is a site that allows users to do four things:
- download and play game that are hosted on the site, leave comments and ask for help
- upload completed projects/games for users to download and play, answer questions / offer support
- create project teams for game development
- join a specific forum community based on their platform, genre etc.
(of course i would also like to keep options open for expanding the possibilities but this is a place to start)

A fine example of what I would like to create can be found here:

From what I have read, seen and experimented with I can't help but get excited. I have limited scripting experience and I am new to the CMS scene (other than the hours spent trying CMSes). However, most of what I need seems to be available for free (unlike those "free" joomla mods!)

Drupal seems like the perfect choice for me. Is it in your opinion?

The modules I believe that I need/want to do this are as follows:
- CCK for submitting games/projects for download
- Views and FCKeditor for creating a pleasant home page
- Organic Communities for project teams
- Panels and Images for creating a project/game page template (or should i use contemplate?)

If you have any suggestions please list them. I am excited to begin this project and look forward to learning how to use Drupal. There is no wonder why it is the top Open Source CMS, it has my vote for the 2009 awards!

Thank you again for your time.
