Normally on the front page I can see the Add Comment link, that is only for blog posts on the front page but for Forum Posts, Custom Nodes (Images), and some others. Even though there may be a fix for Drupal 7, I was wondering if there was a speedier albeit temporary fix for D6

Hmmm weird, I thought that was added by: $links

I'll make some tests but can you please let me know if this happens for only this theme on your site? Turn Garland on and see if you get the same problem.
