Hi, I'm a ColdFusion developer with some PHP experience. I've been asked to create a Drupal site with a signup form with some simple fields, most fairly ordinary (phone, address, etc) but also a multiple choice selection with one required and the option to select several. All this is fairly simple stuff, but I'm puzzled about the basic process of doing it in Drupal.
I've downloaded and placed the forms.module in the modules directory. I've run the associated sql to create the necessary tables, and I've enabled the forms module in the access controls. But now what? Am I to add php code ala the API into a story or page? Or am I creating a module? If so, how would I call it?
Thanks for pointing this newbie in the right direction!

Have you looked at the webform.module? This is the one I normaly use to create simple forms, and not so simple, although you would have much more control if you write your own module of course.
