Hi there!
I´ve been searching about Clean urls problems... and found that many times they are enabled but not working.
My case is a bit different... I cannot even enable them!
I check "enable" button, and hit save. Then appears the "settings" page with "disabled" checked...
I´ve moved my site from a 4.0 to 4.1 MySQL database. And Globals are "Off" now.
I´ve tried to change that from the htaccess, as people have told here... but the same thing...
Is there something that I can do?
Thanks!!

Do you have the mod rewrite
Do you have the mod rewrite enabled on apache? It is a module for apache that allows this. Windows does not have this ability(but, I did see some piece of software for sale, if you want to pay).
Without this module, it will not work.

Thanks for your answer
I asked my server and mod rewrite is enabled.
I don´t understand, I´ve made other Drupal 4.7 RC3 installations this very week, on the same server! No problem in any of them...
Where is be the problem?? I´m clueless!!
Thanks again!

Maybe it's as simple as a slash...
Maybe this comment will help you.
I used the default .htaccess and then tried to customize it to hell to make things work, but this worked like a charm for me.

Same problem with bluemarine only
Sounds strange, but I get the identical problem, only when using the bluemaring theme. If I switch to pushbutton, everything is fine. However, if I go back to bluemaring, change the global settings, then it automatically disables the clean urls and gives me the mod_rewrite notification.
I'm running a fresh CVS install as of 2 days ago.
