Description

I enabled the "post to twitter" option for a couple of content types (using a global account) and succesfully postet to twitter. I wanted to do so for a couple of other items but now the "post to twitter" option just isn't there. I am UID1 and tried both with new content and existing stuff.

What could have caused this weird behaviour?

i couldn't see "post on twitter" in a first time (UID=1), but when I give the rights to use twitter to the role "administrator" (make uid1 this role user) - I started see the checkbox "Announce this post on Twitter"

up: it's gone! after some succesful tweets (but they are all was from one node via editing)

up2: it's returned! are you submit the pass evertime you change the settings? I'm din't do it and checkbox is gone, when I send the pass with other changes - checkbox returned.

Ok, I get the option back when I enter my password in the twitter settings again. BUT this password is gone after one try and I have to put it there again. ARGH!

(plus I get a 401 now when posting to twitter)

edit: Now it seems to be saved permanently but I still cannot post to Twitter.

edit again: WTF? Now it seems to work. I cannot say what I changed (some random cache flushing and reentering of the password). How long will it work?

Re-entering password didn't work for me :-(

I already had a role with the permission, so that's not it for me

I need these tweets to go out!!

Help!!

Thanks

Glenn

"Post to twitter.com" disappeared for me when selected one more content type to be supported in twitter settings pages.
Entering twitter password again fixed it but not for the new content types i selected!

I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or not here...

I've come back to this, and now I can't find where to set the content types that can be posted to Twitter.

My twitter settings page doesn't show the content types, is it somewhere else?? I can't remember...

If it's supposed to be on the Twitter configuration page, it's broken there too, it's not showing.

@sinasalek: one thing I noticed is that whenever you change something in Twitter settings (adding a new content type, changing string format, etc...) you must re-enter the global account password. Failing that you will not be able to tweet anymore.

Puh, just got half-crazy as well - reset content types to only blog (what I had before) re-entered the pw, now it's working again.

OK, loads of people have the problem, does anyone have a solution?!?!?!

murokoma - November 4, 2009 - 13:25

well yes - re-enter the password, as said before, that should do it!

Hi, is that the solution, shouldn't this not be necessary?
thanks for going into this.

It's a bug actually, so we either should provide the fix patch or wait for the maintainer to fix it.

Yes, this is a bug. Due to the existence of a workaround I don't think this should be marked critical. A patch would be nice though. Especially considering the lack of maintanance this module is suffering from. ;)

Hi, may be twitter dave to maintain the module properly? :)

Sorry, me no coding. ;)

My comment was not meant to piss off the maintainers. Both are bright and very valuable community cornerstones. I guess they are awfully busy and twitter isn't high up on their priority list.

If anybody comes up with a patch I would be delighted to test it.

The workaround doesn't work for everyone...

Upgraded to the 2.x-dev version of 05 July, seems to be working fine now
