If I create a new filter and select Is empty (NULL) operator, I still get the Case sensitive checkbox. This is meaningless for Is empty (NULL) and Is not empty (NULL) filters.

I filed as bug because this is a user interface bug that can confuse users with a meaningless choice.

CCK just inherits this feature from Views handlers (views_handler_filter_string). Transferring issue to the proper queue.
