I have poormanscron enabled, together with cron control. I have all crons disabled except mailhandler. The site works fine, except when I try to add content or change settings. Then I get a 500 server error message. However, the content does get added/setting do get saved.

There is nothing that poormanscron does when you add or save content or settings, unless it's the admin/settings/site-information page, which has the one option for the poormanscron module. Your best bet is took look at your server's error log and figure out what is causing the 500 error. But I'm confident that it isn't poormanscron 6.x-2.x. It's been working for all my sites perfectly so far.
