Create a drill-down index from a "Views 2" view

Hi,

I would like to create a drill-down style hierarchical index based on a taxonomy with essentially the same behaviour as the "Vocabulary Index" module's flat view.

However, the Vocabulary Index doesn't provide me with the flexibility I need. I don't wish to create an index from the entire taxonomy, I wish to apply some complex filtering. To this end I've create a Views 2 view that returns a list of all the terms that should be included in the hierarchy.

I've searched high and low for a module that will output an index from the result of a Views 2 query, but I've not had any luck. Does such a beast exist?
