Here is proposal of a patch to make nodes available as blocks for individual nodes in addition to node types.
It also adds options to show the node as teaser or full node and optionally display the links - maybe I should provide a separate patch for this.

I thought you may want to add these functionalities to the module ?

The patch is a little rough around the edges but if this has some interest I may work more on this.

The "node as teaser or full node and optionally display the links" part of this has been rolled into the 6-1--3 release.

Is there any interest in making nodes available as blocks for individual nodes?

Yes there is. This is exactly what I'm looking for. I need to selectively make some nodes available as blocks within a content type.
will use the patch if option is not available.

This module is what I need, but it's very annoying to have lots and lots of nodeblocks that I don't need. Will this feature be implemented? Thank you!

The nodeasblock module doesn't appear to be active. These two modules are also very similar. I'd recommend merging the two of them.

Here are some of the features I'd recommend bringing over from nodeasblock...

  • At the node level ability to optionally create a block
  • At the node level ability to choose display (node, teaser, etc.)
  • At the node level ability to choose whether or not to display links (for given display)

This functionality is added in the drupal 7 version. If someone wants this in drupal 6 then I can set you as co-maintainer for it.
