I would like to save search

Hi,
Excuse-me I'm French and I don't speak english very well...
I'm making a job board, and I would like to do 2 things.

First, I would like to save a search for one user.
A job seeker search a job with keyword, taxonomy or cck field list, and I would like to this job seeker can save this search and access it later...

Second, I would like to create an alert by email from this saved search
A job seeker can choose to create a mail alert form a search result.

For my first problem, I found Views_savedsearches module (http://drupal.org/project/views_savedsearches), but he don't work for me.
I patch the javascript file as it said on an issue, but I have a php warning message :

For the second problem, I think to use the Notifications module (http://drupal.org/project/notifications), but I don't to know, if it's the good choice, and I can't test without a properly Views_savedsearches module

Do you have an idea for saved my search and doing a notifications from a search result ?
