Is anybody else having a problem getting first name last name (two fields) to print on one line in user profile created using the user profile module/cck/real name?

Came over here because there's no response in the issue queue (Maintainer Nancy is very, very busy) and I'm about to theme this to get what I want. But I'm surprised because I thought real name would replace uid and put the name on one line without theming. My first name and last name cck fields are being wrapped in separate divs and stacked one atop each other.

Anybody have any thoughts, experiences with this?
