It's been nearly 6 months since #455720: Add a New Webform Maintainer, when we added djalloway as a co-maintainer to the Webform project. Back then we had 400 open issues. Now we have over 650. I'm frankly overwhelmed by the support requests and answering them all could alone be a full-time job. Considering my inability to answer issues, I've just given up entirely on the Webform project, which obviously isn't beneficial to the users that are building their sites with Webform.
Any users that are interested in helping maintain the Webform project, please contact me through my Drupal.org contact form. Do not ask me support questions through my contact form.

sunIf I'd be more familiar with the code, then I'd immediately volunteer, just to make you happy. 'cause I want and need a happy quicksketch! :)
Maybe we should also discuss the future of Webform in terms of D7, considering fields in core?

quicksketchThanks sun! For the time being I think we're going to be okay, especially once D7 comes out and I can take FileField and ImageField off my plate. Regarding the integration of Fields and Webform, we can continue that over in #118984: Field API based rewrite of webform module. For the first iteration of Webform in D7, I expect that we will not use Fields and just do a straight port of the existing 3.x version.
Webform itself is a massive project, bigger than CCK (but not nearly the size of Views). Considering your extensive involvement with many other modules I don't think adding Webform to your plate would be the best for all the other modules that depend on your efforts. :-)
I'm going to go ahead and mark this issue as postponed for the mean time, since things are starting to free-up slightly for me. However we'll keep this open for any interested parties that have a high level of dependency on the Webform project.

quicksketchThings were looking pretty dire at the end of January, when Webform crossed the 800 open issue mark. Since then I've instituted new submission guidelines:
- NO custom code questions
- NO theming questions
Which turns out was about half of the queue. About another quarter was duplicate requests.
So after a solid month of pruning we're down from 820 issues to 238 issues (actually less once the fixed issues close themselves). So maybe Webform has been saved from the abyss. If only I could get a Drupal 7 version done. ;-)
Anyway, version 3 beta 1 is imminent. I think we're fine here for now, just as long as those pesky users stop with the freaking duplicates, theming questions, and PHP code how-tos.
