When I install the "Pathauto" module, the http://localhost/admin page becomes blank.

Please help me in this regard.

This might not be a problem with Pathauto. Check here for information on the White Screen of Death http://drupal.org/node/158043. In my experience, it's usually to do with your PHP limits.
