Returning results to page 1 after sorting by different field

Description
At the moment, if you sort by a year / title / author / type field, and go to a different page of the results than page 1, and then change the field that you are sorting by, you stay on the page of the same number that you were on before.
I would like to be able to return the user to page 1 of the results when they choose to sort by a different field.
